Commonwealth Service – St. Albans Abbey

Abbey School was part  of a Commonwealth  Service at St Albans Abbey on Sunday 18 March 2018.

There is to be a significant emphasis on the Commonwealth during 2018, not least because of Her Majesty’s hosting as Head of the Commonwealth and the UK Government’s receiving of the Commonwealth Heads of Government in London and Windsor during the week of 16 April 2018.

The Hertfordshire Lieutenancy which undertakes various activities on behalf of the Queen has approached The Abbey School to assist in one of the Lieutenancy’s flagship county events, which will be a Commonwealth Service, took place at the Abbey and Cathedral Church of St Alban on Sunday 18 March 2018, starting at 11.15 am. The Lord Lieutenant and other local, national or international dignitaries attended.

During the Service there was a Commonwealth Procession with 19 Abbey  children to accompany the parade, with the Commonwealth flags.
