The money that the Friends raise for Abbey school is invaluable. On average, we raise £10,000 a year to enhance the school, buying educational resources and helping to improve the school environment. Over the years, thanks to the generous support of many parents and local businesses, the children of Abbey School have benefited from such things as brand new IPads and top of the range playground equipment.
Last year the funds were used to support the teaching of maths in the school with the purchase of the Numicon maths resources. The children’s musical education was also enhanced with the purchase of a set of Boom Bamboo Tamboo instruments and the Leisure Logs in Reception were repaired.
This year the Friends would like to support the teaching of English through the purchase of a new spelling scheme and new Oxford Reading Tree books. They would also like to buy K9 web protection.
So that we can continue to enhance the excellent education provided and offer the children a fun and engaging environment in which to spend their school days we have an exciting programme of fundraising events scheduled for the coming up this year.

Do you shop online?
Whenever you use eBay, Sainsbury’s, Amazon, M&S, John Lewis, Boden and many more you can raise funds for the school.
All you need to do is register for easyfundraising HERE then when you are ready to shop instead of going directly to the retailer website, log into easyfundraising first and click on the retailer you want to shop with. You’ll then be taken to the retailer’s website where you shop as you would normally but because you visited easyfundraising first the school gets a donation.
…but we’re always open to new ideas! Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
