SATs Results Announcement
Date posted: December 16, 2014
The Abbey CE VA Primary School, has been ranked as 3rd in the entire country in tables just published by the Department of Education showing the percentage of pupils achieving a Level 5 or above in the 2014 Key Stage 2 SATs results.
83% of the Year 6 class of 2014 achieved a Level 5 or above in Reading, Writing and Maths out of over 21,441 schools nationwide. The Abbey Primary School was the highest ranking primary school in Hertfordshire on this basis, and only two other schools in the UK achieved a higher percentage point score at this level. Most 11 year olds are expected to achieve a Level 4 by the end of Key Stage 2.
I am extremely proud of all 210 pupils in our school and the fact that our Year 6 pupils are consistently performing at a level so far above the national expectation in their SATs is something the whole school community is delighted with. Abbey Primary School has always been far more than just SATs results. Our children receive a well-rounded education, with the highest expectations and a love of learning that emanates throughout every aspect of Abbey School life. All 30 of our Year 6 children leave confidently and motivated to do well in their future studies.
Chair of Governors Debbie Gupta and I would like to pay tribute to the dedicated and inspiring teachers at the Abbey Primary School. Our teaching and support staff are excellent and these results are a testimony to their commitment and professionalism. Full results can be found here:
