Year 3 Science Experiment
To begin our DT project on Rocket Making we discussed the opposing forces needed to get a rocket into space. To see these opposing forces in action we attached a balloon to a piece of string tied between two chairs, inflated the balloon and let go. The force of the air escaping from the end of the balloon made it move along the string in the other direction.
We found that the amount of air, the tautness of the string and the angle of the string all make a difference to how quickly the balloon rocket travelled.
Watch this space to see some photos of our own rockets that we have been busy designing!
